Vikarabad :- In a significant breakthrough, the Vikarabad police have apprehended an inter-district thief involved in a string of burglaries across seven districts of Telangana. This habitual offender had been active in various districts, including Nalgonda, khammam , Warangal, Siddipet, and Sangareddy, where he executed a total of 42 thefts.
Addressing a press conference, District SP Nandyala Koti Reddy, IPS disclosed that the suspect, identified as Anjanilu (30 years old), hailing from Surayapet district, was taken into custody by the Vikarabad police. Anjanilu’s criminal activities spanned various regions, with notable incidents reported in Vikarabad, Nalgonda, and Kodaad police station limits.
The arrest followed intense investigations and surveillance operations conducted by special police teams, culminating in the successful apprehension of the suspect in the vicinity of Pulmamdi Gate in Nawabpet Mandal.
During the interrogation, Anjanilu confessed to his involvement in several burglaries, including the theft of gold and silver ornaments worth 60,000 rupees from a locked house near Vatti Minapalle in Nawabpet Mandal. Furthermore, he admitted to his role in another burglary in December, targeting a bakery near Vakuripalli in Vikarabad, where he fled with gold and silver jewelry.
SP Nandyala Koti Reddy commended the concerted efforts of the police personnel involved in tracking down the suspect and bringing him to justice. He also praised the collaborative efforts of the special teams from Vikarabad and Nawabpet Mandal, acknowledging their dedication and perseverance in cracking the case.
During the course of the investigation, the police recovered stolen items, including 30 tolas of gold ornaments, 1.4 kilograms of silver ornaments, and three motorcycles (Royal Enfield, Unicorn, and Glamour), all of which were seized as evidence.
The successful apprehension of the suspect and the recovery of stolen property underscore the commitment of the Telangana police in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety and security of citizens across the state.
