In a heart-wrenching incident that unfolded in Saifabad on Friday night, Laxmikanth Shinde, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) at the age of 72, met with a tragic end when an army truck collided with his two-wheeler near the HP petrol pump.

The collision was a result of the army truck rear-ending the DSP’s vehicle, leading to a catastrophic fall and fatal injuries. Saifabad sub-inspector, M. Suresh Reddy, attributes this unfortunate tragedy to the reckless and negligent driving of the truck’s operator.

Promptly responding to the accident, law enforcement personnel swiftly arrived at the scene. The deceased’s body was transported to the Osmania General Hospital (OGH) mortuary, where a post-mortem examination was conducted before authorities released the body to the grieving family.

Authorities have registered a case to delve into the circumstances surrounding this grievous incident.

In a parallel heartbreak, the law enforcement community and the city of Hyderabad grieve the loss of a dedicated police veteran, L.K. Shinde.
