The 83rd edition of the All India Industrial Exhibition Society, fondly known as Numaish, came to a grand conclusion on Sunday, marking the end of a 45-day-long extravaganza. Notably, the Exhibition Society decided to extend the event until February 18, 2024, following requests from traders.

Reports indicate that the 2024 Numaish witnessed an impressive footfall of approximately 20 lakh visitors. The exhibition was inaugurated on January 1 by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, adding to the event’s significance.

This year, the Exhibition Society erected 2,400 stalls to cater to the diverse interests of visitors. Remarkably, despite the extended duration and increased offerings, the ticket prices remained unchanged. Unlike the previous year when ticket prices were raised by Rs. 10, reaching Rs. 40 per visitor, this year saw no such hike, ensuring affordability for all attendees.

Numaish holds a rich historical significance, with its inception dating back to the time of the seventh Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. Initially known as ‘Numaish Masnuaat-e-Mulki,’ the exhibition commenced as a 10-day affair at Public Gardens (Bagh-e-Amma), featuring just 50 stalls. Subsequently, in 1946, it shifted to the Exhibition Grounds, becoming an annual tradition. Despite challenges, including the interruptions in 1947 and 1948 due to the aftermath of India’s independence, Numaish has persevered, captivating audiences year after year.
