In a shocking turn of events, the Nagarkurnool police have apprehended a suspect accused of orchestrating the gruesome murders of 11 individuals. The accused, identified as R Sathyanarayana (47), a resident of Nagarkurnool, allegedly exploited victims’ belief in supernatural powers, enticing them with the promise of uncovering hidden treasures.

According to details revealed by DIG Chauhan, Sathyanarayana, a real estate agent and herbal medicine practitioner, employed an elaborate modus operandi. He conducted rituals, claiming they could unveil buried riches, and charged unsuspecting victims for his services. Once the victims were lured, Sathyanarayana led them to isolated locations where he brutally murdered them by administering acid and poison into their mouths.

The chilling series of murders unfolded across various locations, with Sathyanarayana targeting individuals in Nagapur village (Wanaparthy district), Nagarkurnool, Kollapur, Kalwakurty, and Anantapur. The heinous crimes were exposed when a woman from Hyderabad, Lakshmi Yadav, reported her husband Venkatesh missing. Her complaint implicated Sathyanarayana, who had taken Venkatesh from their home and subsequently became unreachable.

Following intense interrogation, Sathyanarayana confessed to all 11 murders and is now in police custody. Authorities recovered significant evidence, including a car, 13 mobile phones, 10 SIM cards, a box of poisonous substances, and five electric detonators from the accused’s possession.

As the investigation unfolds, the community is left in shock by the revelation of this disturbing crime spree, raising questions about the vulnerability of individuals targeted by the accused’s sinister tactics.
