Hyderabad : In an unexpected turn of events, Uday Babu Mohan, the son of former minister Babu Mohan, has joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), expressing his commitment to work for the party’s success. The significant announcement took place in the presence of Minister Harish Rao in Siddipet, dealing a surprising blow to the Andole BJP candidate and his father.

Accompanying Uday Babu Mohan in this political move were Jogipet Municipal President Sai Krishna, Andole Mandal President Naveen Mudhiraj, Chautakur Mandal President Shekhar, and several other BJP leaders. The ceremony saw the new entrants being warmly welcomed into the BRS fold, symbolized by the donning of pink scarves by the minister.

Babu Mohan, a former MLA elected on a Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) ticket from Andole, made headlines when he switched his allegiance to the BJP after being denied a ticket in 2018. The veteran actor, renowned for his comedic roles in Telugu films, initially entered politics by joining the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in the 1990s. He successfully contested and won the Andole seat in the 1998 by-elections, securing re-election in 1999. Babu Mohan served as the Minister for Labour in the TDP cabinet but faced electoral defeats in 2004 and 2009.

The political landscape in Andole takes a new turn with this development, marking another instance of a family navigating the complex waters of politics, reminiscent of the saying “Ek Aur Family, Do Kashti Ke Sawar”
