Corruption Scandal Unveils Trust Crisis in Law Enforcement.

In a significant development, Enforcement Directorate (ED) officer, Nava Kishore Meena, and his junior assistant, Babulal Meena, were apprehended for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15 lakh in connection with a chit-fund case. The incident took place in Mundawar, Khairthal-Tizara district, with ACB investigators capturing both suspects red-handed.

Nava Kishore Meena, originally from Imphal, had reportedly demanded a bribe of Rs.17 lakh to settle the chit-fund case and prevent the arrest of the accused. Additional Director General Hemant Priyadarshi provided these details.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is currently conducting searches at Meena’s residence and other locations to gather additional information about the case. Babulal Meena, the junior assistant, is known to serve in the state services at Mundawar.

A case has been registered against both individuals under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Additionally, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot made a notable statement on his new Twitter handle, Ashok Gehlot-JanNayak, stating, “Chowkidar chor ke bad pesh hai Tiddi Dal Ghooskhor!” This comment is seen as a reference to the ED and a shift from allegations of a “watchman” being a thief to a “corrupt locust.”
