EC Appointed General Observers for Hyderabad Elections: Rigorous Preparations Underway

The Election Commission of India has designated eight IAS officers as general observers for the upcoming elections in Hyderabad. The District Election Officer, Ronald Rose, disclosed this information on Friday.

According to the official notification, these officers will oversee activities in 15 Assembly constituencies within Hyderabad. Key appointments include IAS Yatindra Prasad for Malakpet and Amberpet, Sameer Verma for Charminar and Chandrayanagutta, J Jayakanthan for Khairtabad and Jubilee Hills, Dr Ahmed Iqbal for Sanath Nagar and Nampally, Kavitha Ramu for Karwan and Goshamahal, Dipankar Sinha for Yakutpura and Bahadurpura, Gayathri Krishnan for Secunderabad and Secunderabad Cantonment, and Sachindra Pratap Singh for Musheerabad constituency.

Meanwhile, Sameer Varma, the General Observer for Charminar and Chandrayangutta Assembly constituencies, conducted an inspection at the GHMC headquarters to assess preparations for the forthcoming elections.

During the briefing by DEO Ronald Rose, details about city-wide check posts, GPS-monitored flying squads, and Static surveillance teams were shared. The MCC control room and command control room were highlighted for their coordinated efforts, ensuring swift processing of election-related permits. Additionally, the monitoring of liquor shops and Distribution and Reception Centres (DRCs) through CC cameras was emphasized
