Hyderabad , August,27,2023: Startling developments unfolded on Saturday as a sub inspector attached to the Cyberabad cybercrime station was apprehended by local authorities on charges of possessing narcotics.

The detained SI, identified as Rajendar, had been actively engaged at the cybercrime station, where he recently embarked on a trip to Maharashtra to address a cybercrime case. During this operation, Rajendar apprehended multiple suspects and conducted house searches. It was during one of these searches that he reportedly discovered a packet containing MDMA, a controlled substance, and opted to retain it in his possession.

Contrary to the prescribed protocol of promptly reporting the seized items to higher-ranking officers, Rajendar allegedly chose to keep the drug consignment at his residence.

The emergence of this unorthodox course of action triggered an internal inquiry, leading to the ordering of a comprehensive investigation into the matter. Consequently, charges were levied against the sub inspector, prompting his sudden disappearance.

However, swift police efforts culminated in his detention on Saturday, resulting in the recovery of the alleged drug stash from his domicile, overseen by the Raidurgam police.

The sub inspector now faces legal proceedings, including remand. This incident follows a prior episode where Rajendar was embroiled in a corruption case, having been trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB).

As this unfolding saga shines a light on the interface between law enforcement and alleged misconduct, it underscores the significance of accountability within the ranks of the police force.
