Hyderabad : In a noteworthy development, Shri Revanth Reddy unveiled the Congress Minority Declaration on November 9, 2023, embracing diverse Muslim sects, including the Shia community.

The declaration earmarks a substantial Minority Budget of Rs. 4,000 Crores, spanning both Sunni and Shia sects. Specifically, benefits such as Rs. 1,000 Crores in subsidized loans for unemployed youth and women will extend to Shia Muslims and previously excluded Sunni categories like the Syed’s, Moghal’s, and Pathans.

Zafar Javeed, Senior Vice-President of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and Convenor of the Congress Minority Declaration Committee, emphasized, “The declaration addresses historical discrepancies by extending housing privileges, including House site Pattas and Rs. 5 Lakhs for construction, to Shia and specific Sunni groups previously overlooked in the 4% reservation for Education and Employment.”

Moreover, the commitment to safeguarding religious sites, encompassing Masjids, Dargahs, and Ashoor Khanas, demonstrates a comprehensive approach. Graveyard provisions for all and inclusive scholarships covering Shia and Sunni sects beyond the 4% reservation underline the commitment to equitable opportunities.

Zafar Javeed reiterated these crucial points in the recent media release, solidifying the Congress Minority Declaration’s commitment to fostering inclusive opportunities
