Warangal, 11th December 2023: The Congress leadership in Warangal has strongly criticized BRS leader Ponnala Lakshmaiah for his ‘objectionable’ WhatsApp status. The controversy arose after Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited his predecessor, K Chandrasekhar Rao, at a Hyderabad hospital where Rao underwent hip replacement surgery following a fracture.
Ponnala Lakshmaiah shared a photo of Revanth’s visit on his WhatsApp account with a sarcastic caption, “Sincerely request you, KCR garu, to allow me to be CM of Telangana for at least one…[sic].”
Expressing their disapproval, Congress leader and Warangal District Congress Committee (DCC) president Errabelli Swarna took exception to Ponnala’s remark after the chief minister’s courtesy visit to the BRS party chief.
“As a senior party leader, it does not behoove you to make such a derisive remark about the chief minister. The comment proves that you have no respect for the elected representative. We will not keep quiet if you repeat it in the future,” Errabelli Swarna stated, highlighting the party’s stance against such remarks.
