In a poignant moment captured by Arvind Kejriwal, the convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia was photographed hugging his wife as he left his house after a brief visit. Kejriwal questioned the appropriateness of treating someone unfairly who had offered hope to the nation’s impoverished youth. The tweet emphasized the ‘painful’ nature of the moment.
Manish Sisodia, the former Deputy Chief Minister, was granted permission by a city court to visit his sick wife, Seema, who suffers from multiple sclerosis. The visit took place on Saturday and was sanctioned for six hours, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This emotional meeting comes amidst Sisodia’s legal troubles. In February of this year, he was taken into custody by the CBI on suspicion of involvement in a spirits fraud. Currently held in Tihar jail under judicial custody, Sisodia was permitted by the Delhi High Court to meet his spouse at home in June. However, his plans were thwarted as his wife’s health deteriorated, leading to her hospitalization in the emergency department of Lok Nayak Hospital. Despite the setback, the poignant image of Sisodia bidding farewell to his wife speaks volumes about the challenges he faces.
