Mr. Oberoi, aged 94, was a stalwart in the tourism and hospitality industry, garnering numerous awards and accolades throughout his illustrious career. Among his many honors, he was conferred with the Padma Vibhushan, a testament to his exceptional contributions to the country’s tourism sector.
His visionary leadership was globally recognized, with awards such as the Lifetime Achievement Award at ILTM (International Luxury Travel Market) and the ‘Corporate Hotelier of the World’ award by HOTELS magazine USA. The 6th International Hotels Investment Forum in Berlin presented him with the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his unparalleled dedication to the hospitality realm.
Mr. Oberoi’s excellence extended beyond borders, earning him accolades like the Forbes India Leadership Awards, Economic Times Awards for Corporate Excellence, CNBC TV 18 India Business Leader Awards, and Business India magazine’s Businessman of the Year. His remarkable journey was also marked by the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.
