Hyderabad, December 11: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader K. Kavitha expressed a significant shift in the party’s stance by stating that the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a “dream come true for crores of Hindus.” Kavitha, the daughter of BRS President and former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, shared her thoughts on social media platform X, emphasizing the auspicious moment when the idol of Sri Seetharama Chandra Swamy will be installed in Ayodhya on January 22.

In her Telugu post, Kavitha extended a warm welcome to the historic event, aligning Telangana with the joyous occasion. The BRS MLC’s statement is seen as a notable departure from the party’s previous position and comes in the aftermath of BRS losing power to the Congress in Telangana.

Political analysts interpret this shift as a potential indication that BRS may follow the JD(S)’s path and align with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The JD(S) had joined the NDA a few months after both parties faced defeat in the Karnataka Assembly elections against the Congress.

Supporters of the BJP recalled statements made by KCR, his son K.T. Rama Rao, and Kavitha on the Ayodhya issue in the past. Social media posts circulated video clips of BRS leaders addressing the matter during previous speeches.

During an election campaign, KCR had raised questions about the demolition of Babri Masjid and criticized the Congress for allegedly using Muslims as a vote bank. The recent stance of Kavitha is viewed as a noteworthy development in the political landscape of Telangana.
