An unsettling development has emerged in Chicago, United States, where 25-year-old Indian student Rupesh Chandra Chintakindi has been missing since May 2. According to reports from the Indian Consulate in Chicago, Rupesh, hailing from Telangana’s Warangal and pursuing a master’s degree at Concordia University in Wisconsin, has not been in contact for over a week.

The Indian Consulate expressed deep concern over Rupesh’s disappearance, highlighting efforts to reestablish contact with him. Despite these efforts, there has been no communication from Rupesh since his last known whereabouts on the 4300 block of N Sheridan Road.

Rupesh’s family, particularly his father Chintikindi Sadanandam, has been tirelessly seeking answers. Their last conversation with Rupesh on May 2 ended abruptly, leaving them unable to reach him since then. According to Rupesh’s roommates, he had gone to meet someone from Texas, but details about this encounter remain unclear.

Frustrated by the lack of progress, Rupesh’s family has filed a missing complaint in Chicago. However, they express dissatisfaction with the response from local law enforcement, alleging a lack of proper assistance.

Meanwhile, the Chicago police have initiated efforts to locate Rupesh, urging the public to come forward with any information. This incident adds to a string of cases involving Indian students encountering grim fates in the US, raising concerns within the Indian community about the safety and well-being of students pursuing education abroad.
