Thane: A distressing incident has come to light as a 33-year-old woman from Navi Mumbai reported that she was allegedly subjected to multiple instances of sexual assault by an individual she had met on a matrimonial website. The incident has prompted a swift response from the authorities, and a case has been registered by the police.

Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have initiated proceedings under section 376(2)(n) of the Indian Penal Code, which pertains to repeated rape against the same woman. The accused, who is currently based in Singapore, is the subject of the investigation.

The victim alleges that she was sexually assaulted on numerous occasions between December 2020 and March 2023, with the incidents taking place in lodges and hotels in Navi Mumbai, Mumbai, and Singapore. According to the official statement, the accused, having met the woman on a matrimonial site, purportedly promised to marry her and then proceeded to commit these heinous acts at various locations.

In a deeply disturbing turn of events, the accused is also alleged to have captured objectionable images and videos of the woman during the ordeal.

As of now, no arrests have been made in this case, and the investigation continues to unfold. The authorities are actively working to bring justice to the victim and hold the accused accountable for his actions.
