Hyderabad: The citizens of Telangana, particularly those residing in the capital city, find themselves grappling with frequent power cuts in recent days. These interruptions not only impact essential services but are posing a significant challenge for work-from-home (WFH) employees, whose professional commitments rely on uninterrupted power supply.
Addressing the situation, Musharaf Ali Faruqui, Managing Director of Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TSSPDCL), acknowledged on Sunday, January 14, that power cuts of up to 2 hours might become necessary. He cited the higher power demand expected in the upcoming summer/rabi season as a reason for these potential disruptions.
In a statement posted on X, Faruqui expressed regret for the inconvenience caused due to power interruptions in various parts of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC). He highlighted that these interruptions are part of annual maintenance efforts and preparation for the anticipated surge in power demand during the Summer/Rabi season.
Residents, along with WFH employees, are urged to brace for possible two-hour power cuts as the authorities work to address the challenges posed by increased seasonal power demand. Stay tuned for updates on this developing situation.
