Hyderabad Police are intensifying efforts to locate Raheel, son of former MLA Mohammed Shakil Aamir, following a hit-and-run incident involving a BMW car at Praja Bhavan, the official residence of Telangana Deputy Chief Minister. The incident occurred in the early hours of December 24, when the speeding car collided with barricades in the Begumpet area, causing damage to both the barricades and the front portion of the vehicle.

Initial reports indicated that one Ibraheem was identified as the driver and was charged with negligent driving. However, subsequent investigations revealed that Raheel was, in fact, behind the wheel at the time of the accident. Deputy Commissioner of Police Vijay Kumar disclosed that Raheel attempted to mislead the investigation by presenting an unrelated individual, Ibraheem, as the driver.

“An unrelated individual Ibraheem working in the former MLA’s house was presented as the driver,” stated the DCP.

Raheel, who is now a fugitive, faces charges not only for the hit-and-run but also for misleading the investigation. The police are actively searching for him, and officials warn of legal consequences for those aiding his escape and contributing to the misinformation.

This is not the first time Raheel has been involved in a controversy. In a previous incident last year, he was allegedly present in an SUV involved in a fatal collision with street vendors in Jubilee Hills. The incident resulted in the tragic death of a two-month-old child and injuries to four others. Raheel denied driving the car, attributing the incident to his cousin. However, the recent hit-and-run has prompted the police to reopen the investigation into last year’s incident.

The police are committed to unraveling the truth behind both incidents and ensuring accountability for those responsible. The latest developments raise concerns about the involvement of influential figures and underline the need for a thorough and impartial inquiry into such cases.
