New Leadership Takes the Helm in Telangana: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Assume Office

Hyderabad : Telangana’s Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, along with five other ministers, officially assumed their roles on Thursday, marking a significant moment for the state’s governance. The swearing-in ceremony commenced at 8:21 a.m., with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti taking charge amidst the recitation of Vedic hymns and blessings from pandits.

In a swift move, Bhatti, overseeing finance & planning and energy portfolios, wasted no time in executing key administrative tasks. He signed crucial files related to the release of funds, fulfilling two out of six promises made by the Congress party in the elections.

Among the notable allocations, Rs 374 crore was released to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) to support the Mahalaxmi scheme, providing free travel to women in buses. Additionally, Rs 298 crore was allocated to the health department for treatment under the Rajiv Arogya Sri scheme, extending support to the needy up to Rs 10 lakhs.

Further, an amount of Rs 996 crore was earmarked as electricity subsidy, and Rs 75 crore was allocated for the arrangements related to the famous tribal festival, Sammakka Saralamma, at Medaram in Mulugu district.

The lineup of ministers also included D. Sridhar Babu, Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, Industries & Commerce, who was the first to take charge at 6:30 a.m. Other ministers assuming their roles included Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy, C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, and Seethakka, each overseeing critical portfolios.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by senior officials, MLAs, and Congress leaders, signifying the formal commencement of their respective roles in the state government. Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with 10 other ministers, had taken their oath on December 7, with some ministers officially assuming office a day later.
