Jaipur : In a significant development, the BJP is embarking on a new venture in Rajasthan with the selection of first-time MLA Bhajanlal Sharma as the next Chief Minister. The state is set to witness a unique governance structure with the appointment of two Deputy Chief Ministers, Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa.

The announcement came following a meeting of the newly elected BJP MLAs, during which Bhajanlal Sharma was elected as the leader of the party’s legislature. This surprising choice culminated days of speculation after the BJP’s triumph in the assembly polls.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who was herself a contender for the top post, proposed Bhajanlal Sharma’s name during the meeting.

Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister-designate said, “I would like to thank PM Modi, BJP president JP Nadda, Union Home minister Amit Shah, Defence minister Rajnath Singh. I would also thank former CM Vasundhara Raje for proposing my name (as new BJP legislature party leader).”

As part of the leadership lineup, Vasudev Devnani is slated to become the Speaker, as revealed by BJP central observer for Rajasthan, Rajnath Singh. This marks a new chapter for the BJP in Rajasthan politics.
