A horrifying incident unfolded in Atlanta on Saturday evening as a shooting at 3005 Buckhead Apartments resulted in the deaths of three individuals, while one person sustained injuries, according to the Atlanta Police Department.
Responding to a call on Peachtree Road NE in the city’s Buckhead district around 6:25 p.m., officers found three victims in their 20s pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.
The Atlanta Police Department revealed that the shooting was linked to drug activity within the apartment. Major Peter Malecki clarified, “This wasn’t like a home invasion type of scenario. We believe that the perpetrators were invited in for that drug exchange. It was some type of drug transaction that was taking place inside the apartment.”
Authorities plan to conduct tests on handguns recovered at the scene to determine the weapon used in the shooting.
