Delhi : In a significant move ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President and Chief Minister-designate Revanth Reddy is anticipated to step down from his position as the sitting Congress MP from the Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency.

The decision was conveyed during Reddy’s meeting with Lok Sabha Speaker Chief Whip K Suresh at the Parliament on Wednesday. Reddy, who played a pivotal role in the recent Telangana assembly elections, securing victory from the Kodangal Assembly seat, is expected to formalize his resignation before the official swearing-in ceremony scheduled to take place in Hyderabad tomorrow.

Earlier today, Revanth Reddy, who was elected as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party, engaged in key discussions in the national capital. He visited the residence of Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi and extended invitations to the party’s national president, Mallikarjun Kharge, for his upcoming oath-taking ceremony.

Reddy’s leadership led the Congress party to a remarkable victory in Telangana, securing 64 assembly seats and thwarting the hopes of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leader KCR for a third consecutive win in the state polls. As he prepares to assume the role of Chief Minister, Reddy’s resignation as a Member of Parliament marks a significant transition in his political journey.
