In a press meet held at his office, Warangal Police Commissioner, Ambar Kishor Jha, addressed the media regarding the upcoming Telangana State Legislative Assembly (TSLA) elections scheduled for tomorrow, the 30th of November. Commissioner Jha highlighted the meticulous arrangements in place to facilitate a smooth and fair electoral process.
To ensure a hassle-free voting experience for the public, comprehensive security planning has been implemented. The focus is on creating a peaceful atmosphere, fostering a sense of safety during the voting process.
Key points from the press meet:
- Constituency Coverage:
- Elections will be conducted in (8) Assembly Constituencies within the Warangal Commissionerate and in partial Assembly Constituencies such as Husnabad, Huzurabad, and Bhupalpally.
- Security Arrangements:
- Problematic areas have been identified, and substantial police bandobust (deployment) has been arranged in those regions.
- A total of (2126) Polling Stations in (1128) Polling Locations have been set up.
- Police Deployment:
- A robust police force, comprising (4000) members ranging from Home Guard to DCP ranks, has been deployed.
- Additionally, (1700) Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) are actively participating in election duties.
- Model Code of Conduct Implementation:
- Patrolling parties, Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs), Striking Forces, and Special Striking Forces have been strategically positioned to ensure effective implementation of the Model Code of Conduct.
- Seizures and Legal Actions:
- Since the enforcement of the election code, the police have seized a total of Rs. 12,33,00,000 through vehicle checks within the Warangal Police Commissionerate limits.
- Seizures include liquor/gudumba, black jaggery/Alum, ganja, gold, silver, and freebies intended for voter distribution, leading to (842) reported cases.
- (7842) individuals, including (579) known rowdy elements, have been bound over as part of maintaining law and order.
- Imposed Restrictions:
- Section 144 Cr.PC has been imposed, prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons and holding public meetings within the Warangal Police Commissionerate limits from 1700 hours on 28.11.2023 to 0600 hours on 30.11.2023.
- Notification for the closure of liquor shops and other establishments selling/serving liquor during this period has also been issued.
Commissioner Ambar Kishor Jha urged voters to cast their votes without fear, resist inducements, and adhere to the Model Code of Conduct. Legal actions will be initiated against those who violate the code.
