In a shocking incident in Pune’s Wanavdi area, a 36-year-old man named Nikhil Khanna lost his life after an altercation with his wife over birthday celebrations. The unfortunate incident unfolded in the couple’s apartment located in a posh residential society on Friday.
Nikhil Khanna, a businessman in the construction industry, had a love marriage with his wife, Renuka (38), six years ago. The confrontation erupted when Nikhil refused to take Renuka to Dubai for her birthday celebration. Additionally, he did not present her with expensive gifts on her birthday and anniversary. Renuka was reportedly upset with Nikhil for not endorsing her desire to travel to Delhi for the birthdays of some relatives.
According to a senior police officer from the Wanavdi Police station, the incident occurred on Friday afternoon during a heated argument. During the altercation, Renuka punched Nikhil in the face, resulting in a severe impact that led to the breaking of Nikhil’s nose and some teeth. The force of the punch caused heavy bleeding, leading to Nikhil losing consciousness.
In response to the tragic turn of events, the police have registered a case against Renuka under IPC Section 302 and subsequently arrested her for further investigation. The incident underscores the unfortunate consequences of a domestic dispute, shedding light on the escalating tensions within the family.
