In a series of rallies in Telangana, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi asserted that his party successfully deflated the BJP’s prospects in the state and vowed to replicate the feat in Delhi. Characterizing the upcoming election as a clash between ‘Dorala Sarkar’ (feudal government) and ‘Prajala Sarkar’ (people’s government), Gandhi criticized BRS chief Chandrasekhar Rao for allegedly dashing the dreams of a pro-poor and farmer-friendly government.
While addressing the crowd, Rahul Gandhi reminded KCR of the Congress party’s contributions, including building the schools and universities where he studied, the construction of the airport, and the development of Hyderabad into a major IT hub. He credited the Congress for the formation of Telangana and accused KCR’s family of holding all “moneymaking portfolios.”
Taking aim at specific projects, Gandhi accused Rao of looting Rs one lakh crore from the Kaleswaram irrigation project and alleged corruption in the implementation of schemes like Dalit Bandhu. He claimed that the BRS government diverted funds from the ST and SC sub plans.
Rahul Gandhi emphasized the need for change, promising a “Prajala Sarkar” in contrast to the current “Dola Sarkar.” He outlined the Congress party’s “six guarantees,” including benefits for women under Mahalakshmi, such as monthly pensions, free bus travel, and subsidized LPG cylinders.
Mocking the alleged alliance between BJP and BRS, Gandhi claimed that the Congress party had “removed gas” from BJP leaders and successfully punctured all four tyres of the saffron vehicle in Telangana. He ridiculed BRS’s aspirations to inflate their tyres, stating that the Congress has permanently damaged BJP’s prospects.
Looking ahead, Rahul Gandhi declared the intention to go to Delhi and puncture all four tyres of Modi’s vehicle. He accused BRS and BJP of supporting each other and stressed the importance of defeating BRS in Telangana before taking on Narendra Modi in Delhi. Allegations were made that KCR desires Modi’s continued power in Delhi, while Modi supposedly wants BRS to remain chief in Telangana.
