Hyderabad : In a scathing critique of the KCR government in Telangana, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra declared on Friday that the government is past its expiry date. Addressing an election rally at Palakurthi constituency in Warangal district, she accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government of betraying the hopes of the people who elected them 10 years ago.
“The government has done injustice at all levels and has passed its expiry date,” claimed Priyanka Gandhi, asserting that a Congress wave is sweeping the state.
Allegations of Corruption and Unfulfilled Promises
Priyanka Gandhi urged the people to vote out the government, accusing it of large-scale corruption and failure to fulfill promises made to the public. The Congress leader highlighted the looting of thousands of crores of public money by those in power. She expressed disappointment that the youth, who had hopes of getting jobs when the new state was created, were betrayed by the government.
“The youth worked hard for exams to get jobs, but question paper leaks destroyed their future, and many of them committed suicide,” she lamented. Priyanka Gandhi promised that if Congress is voted to power, they will provide 2 lakh government jobs to the youth in Telangana, as demonstrated in Rajasthan.
Congress’ Vision for Telangana’s Youth and Students
Addressing the issue of unemployment, Priyanka Gandhi emphasized that Telangana has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country. She announced that the Congress will release a job calendar, specifying exam dates, results, and job notices. The party envisions empowering the youth and helping them stand on their feet.
“If voted to power, Congress will give Rs 5 lakh each for students’ education, establish schools with international standards in every district, and provide financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month to women affected by price rise,” she promised. Priyanka Gandhi also pledged to make cooking gas cylinders available for Rs 500 and allow free travel in RTC buses for women, drawing a parallel with the benefits provided to her “sisters in Karnataka.”
