In a scathing critique, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national president Mayawati lambasted the Telangana government led by KCR for neglecting the Dalit community. Speaking at a public meeting in Peddapalli town as part of the Telangana Assembly election campaign, Mayawati accused the government of offering mere lip service to Dalits, emphasizing a focus on vote securing rather than genuine political empowerment.

Mayawati underscored the pivotal role of B.R. Ambedkar’s Constitution in providing education, employment, and political opportunities for oppressed communities. She asserted that if the BSP comes to power, it will ensure justice and opportunities for all classes. The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister criticized the Telangana government for limiting attention to reservation in banks while neglecting broader issues of education, employment, and political representation.

Highlighting B.R. Ambedkar’s vision for social justice and equal opportunities, Mayawati called for the nationwide implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations. She praised the efforts of Kanshi Ram in advocating for reservations in education and employment for socially and economically disadvantaged groups. The BSP leader expressed concern over the absence of reservations in the private sector nationwide, accusing both the Congress and BJP of failing to deliver justice to marginalized communities.

Mayawati specifically pointed out struggles faced by various groups in Telangana under the KCR-led government, criticizing alleged discrimination against Dalits. Advocating for policies that address the concerns of all communities, she called for reservation policies in the private sector, citing successful implementation during her tenure in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati urged people not to vote for the ruling party in the upcoming elections, emphasizing BSP’s commitment to empowering socially and economically backward classes.

BSP state president R.S. Praveen Kumar echoed Mayawati’s sentiments, urging voters to defeat the ruling party in the coming elections. He alleged that KCR looted Telangana, which was formed with the sacrifices of martyrs.
