In a bid to solidify support from backward classes in the upcoming Telangana assembly election, Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Congress and Telangana’s ruling party, Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), of being “anti-backward class” parties. Shah asserted that only the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are dedicated to the upliftment of backward classes.

During a poll rally in Telangana’s Gadwal, Shah reiterated the BJP’s commitment to appointing a Chief Minister from a backward class. The party has strategically nominated 39 candidates from backward classes, relying on substantial support from the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).

“Modi ji has declared that the next CM of Telangana will be from a backward class. The BJP pledges to provide the state with its first Chief Minister from a backward class,” stated Amit Shah.

Shah also disclosed the BJP’s intention to eliminate religious reservations and increase quotas for OBCs and Scheduled Tribes if the party assumes power in the state. He criticized the Congress and BRS for perpetuating dynastic politics.

“KCR wants his son to become CM, and Sonia Gandhi wants Rahul Gandhi to become PM. We have decided that, under our governance, no son or daughter will become a CM; instead, a leader from the Backward Class will hold the position,” Shah declared.

Accusing Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of corruption, Shah claimed that MLAs were instructed to accept bribes ranging from Rs 1–3 lakh from Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries. He emphasized the need to transfer KCR’s “Car of corruption” to Modi ji’s welfare garage.

Additionally, Shah announced that, if the BJP comes to power, residents of Telangana will have free visits to the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He alleged that the Congress hindered and delayed the construction of the temple for the past 70 years.
