
Siddipet : In a shocking incident, BRS MP and Dubbak Assembly candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, a trusted associate of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, was stabbed during a campaign event in Siddipet today. Reddy is currently receiving medical treatment and is reported to be out of danger.
Siddipet Commissioner N Swetha confirmed, “MP Kotha Prabhakar Reddy is safe. The attack occurred in Surampally village of the Daulatabad mandal, and the alleged assailant is now in custody. We are actively investigating the matter.”
Footage of the incident showed Prabhakar Reddy pressing the stab wound on his stomach in an attempt to stop the bleeding while sitting in a vehicle. The attacker was reportedly apprehended by local residents.
Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, who is the sitting MP from Medak, took office in 2014 after KCR assumed the position of Chief Minister. He was recently announced as the candidate from Dubbak and is facing off against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Raghunandan Rao in the upcoming assembly elections.
In response to the incident, Finance Minister T Harish Rao has canceled all his scheduled events and is rushing to Gajwel to monitor the situation closely.
