Hyderabad : In a swift action, Hyderabad’s Commissioner of Police, Sandeep Shandilya, suspended Inspector Naresh Pidamarthy on Sunday for dereliction of duty and unprofessional conduct in the aftermath of a tragic incident at Brindavan Hostel in Ashoknagar.

The incident occurred on Friday night when a young woman, Pravallika, tragically died by suicide at the hostel. The situation escalated, leading to protests and stone-pelting, fueled by misinformation spread by some political parties. Contrary to the claims made by certain factions, the woman’s suicide was a result of personal issues, not the cancellation of TSPSC Group 2 exams.

Hyderabad’s Police Commissioner, Sandeep Shandilya, expressed grave concern over the incident, prompting him to take decisive action. Inspector Naresh Pidamarthy was suspended, and two other officers were issued memos, demanding explanations for their actions during the incident.

The Hyderabad Police Department remains committed to maintaining law and order in the city, ensuring swift justice, and taking strong action against any lapses in duty.
