Hyderabad : In a momentous political development, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) is set to unveil its initial list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections this Sunday. Following the culmination of Pitru Paksha, the TPCC has made the decision to reveal the names of over 60 candidates as part of its election strategy.
This strategic move comes after a high-stakes meeting held by the TPCC’s election committee at the residence of K C Venugopal on Saturday. Moreover, the Central Election Committee of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) is scheduled to convene once again on Tuesday to finalize the remaining candidates for the upcoming elections.

The screening committee chairman, K Muralidharan, highlighted that loyalty and winning potential played pivotal roles in the candidate selection process. The TPCC meticulously examined reports from grassroots party leaders and survey findings before arriving at the final decisions. Notably, the chosen candidate names have received unanimous approval from all members of the screening committee.

Among the new additions to the party’s lineup are Ponguleti Srinivasulu Reddy and Tummala Nageswara Rao. Tummala Nageswara Rao, who had previously met with Rahul Gandhi and KC Venugopal, affirmed his willingness to contest from any constituency as directed by the party. Previously, he had contested from the Palair constituency. Discussions have also taken place regarding potential alliances and seat adjustments with the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM). A final decision on this matter is expected to be reached on Sunday. Stay tuned for more updates as the political landscape in Telangana continues to evolve.
