Upcoming Assembly Elections: Telangana Joins Four Other States
In the electoral landscape this year, Telangana stands alongside four other states heading to the polls. These states include Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Mizoram, all set to hold crucial assembly elections.

Hyderabad : The Election Commission of India (ECI) is gearing up for a crucial assessment of poll readiness in Telangana, with a three-day visit set to commence on October 3.
CEO Vikas Raj officially announced this visit, which aims to engage with diverse stakeholders, evaluate election preparedness, and foster community engagement ahead of the upcoming polls.
Telangana is among the five states slated to hold assembly elections later this year, with Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Mizoram being the other states on the electoral calendar. The Bharitya Rashtra Samiti (BRS), led by incumbent Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, will be seeking a third consecutive term in office.
The inaugural day of the ECI’s visit will feature a crucial meeting with national and state-recognized political parties, with top officials in attendance.
Subsequently, the ECI team will engage with enforcement agencies to deliberate on vital election-related matters.
The spotlight on the second day will be on assessing poll preparedness at the grassroots level. District Election Officers (DEOs) and top law enforcement officials from all 33 districts in Telangana will deliver comprehensive presentations to the EC team.
The third and final day will showcase an exhibition highlighting the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) activities. The EC team will actively interact with State Icons, Persons with Disabilities (PwD) voters, and the young electorate to promote awareness and active participation in the democratic process.
Additionally, the EC team will hold a crucial meeting with the Chief Secretary and the Director-General of Police (DGP) to align their efforts with state administration and security agencies.
The visit will culminate with a press conference where the EC team will share their observations and insights, providing valuable information and perspectives on Telangana’s poll preparedness.
