The city of Hyderabad grappled with the aftermath of heavy rain as low-lying areas found themselves inundated, causing significant disruptions to daily life. Traffic movement in various parts of the city was reduced to a crawl.

Motorists traveling from Panjagutta to Kukatpally encountered floodwaters at Maithrivanam and Moosapet metro stations. The Erragadda main road was submerged in knee-deep rainwater, and the Balkampet-Begumpet bridge had to be temporarily closed due to extensive waterlogging.

In the face of these challenges, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Disaster Response Force (GHMC-DRF) team worked tirelessly to rescue a bus trapped in floodwaters in Srinagar Colony. Several roads, including those near Fatehnagar-Begumpet and Aramgarh, were also inundated, causing further difficulties for commuters.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi promptly engaged GHMC officials in a conference, emphasizing the need to take immediate measures to prevent loss of life and property in low-lying areas. Residents were advised to remain indoors and venture out only when necessary.

To manage the increasing water levels, HMWS&SB authorities opened six gates of Osman Sagar and six gates of Himayath Sagar. This action was taken in response to heavy inflows, and water was released into the downstreams of River Musi at 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon.
