Hyderabad – A somber atmosphere enveloped the Pragati Nagar NRI Colony on Tuesday as a heart-wrenching incident unfolded when a 4-year-old boy was swept away in a stormwater drain amid relentless rainfall in the city. It was the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams who later managed to recover the child’s lifeless body from the Tukra pond.

The young victim, Mithun Reddy, the son of Santosh Reddy, had been innocently playing in front of his residence on that fateful Tuesday afternoon when he accidentally tumbled into the open stormwater drain. Local residents swiftly alerted the police, who promptly began their investigation, uncovering crucial CCTV footage of the tragic incident.

Subsequently, the Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams were swiftly mobilized into action to retrieve the young boy’s body. A relentless search operation was conducted in the vicinity of Pragati Nagar’s Turka pond, ultimately resulting in the discovery of the lifeless child.
