
Hyderabad, February 3, 2026:
Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, general secretary of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and one of the party’s most loyal senior leaders, passed away at the age of 72 on Tuesday at Owaisi Hospital in Hyderabad.
Quadri had been admitted to the hospital on November 30, 2025, after experiencing severe uneasiness. He had been battling renal-related health complications for the past two years and had been undergoing continuous treatment.
A Loyal AIMIM Leader With Nearly Two Decades of Public Service
Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri was widely remembered for his unwavering loyalty to AIMIM and his deep involvement in community representation. He spent several decades working with the party and emerged as one of its most respected figures.
His political journey began when he won the Charminar Assembly constituency in 2004, succeeding Asaduddin Owaisi. He retained the seat in 2009, 2014, and 2018, strengthening his rapport with Old City voters.
From 2018 to 2023, he represented the Yakutpura Assembly constituency, completing almost 20 years of continuous service as an MLA.
Deeply Respected Within the Party
Quadri was regarded as a disciplined, soft-spoken, and committed leader. His long association with AIMIM leadership, including his close working relationship with the late Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, made him one of the most trusted political figures in the party.
During his hospitalization in December 2025, AIMIM leaders frequently visited him and urged supporters to pray for his recovery.
